Cast iron has been for more than one hundred years the speciality of Lodge, a company that manufactures the most various pans and pieces of equipment, and which fate is still in the hands of descendants of Joseph Lodge, the founder. The development of its activities did not happen without many challenges, among which a devastating fire, wars and the Great Depression, but was largely enabled by the continuous research and the application of innovative techniques and technologies.
While the second half of the 20th century was a pivotal era for Lodge, which reviewed its manufacturing processes and improved numerous devices, the beginning of the 21st century will be mainly remembered as a time when the focus was on developing and launching new products that are more resistant, versatile and durable. Contrarily to cast iron, which has not changed a bit, Lodge has not stopped reinventing itself to stay a company that would generate pride and build trust.
